Okay, well, Knives is a little (unsure) about Lark. He's never been mean to her, and she thinks he's actually a nice guy, or appears to be a nice guy, anyway. He helped her out during the bingo card game, and he has always been pleasant to talk to. However, he's on Celeste, and she doesn't trust them! Especially now that Jackal is gone. The only reason that she (and Fawn in general) don't attack Celeste often in games is because… they think that everyone else is already going to do it for them… which is generally true. /o\ So right now Knives has this opinion where she's like "Sure I'll talk to you and be cool with you outside of games, but during games that won't affect what happens."

BASICALLY THE SAME OPINION, which is admittedly a pretty common opinion for Lark. Fawn in particular comes across as pretty... personable and nice to their faces but lol \:'D/ except for him it extends a little further than games and into a more general distrust, mostly since Janus. Knives is easier for him to relax around-- er, DEFINITELY COMPARED TO JANUS but also like compared to his base level tension with other people, largely because she's. a dumb kid, in certain ways. not nearly as capable of subtlety, for starters! But he also admires that she has a real drive to win, and is clever and engaged enough to try to play at least the safe competitions to their fullest (lying and implication in the Dealer's game). Hi sorry I was raised by a game/challenge-obsessed undead manchild. I wouldn't go as far as to say he likes her, exactly, but he enjoys speaking to her and is willing to initiate interaction for no reason, which is a step up from most... people...

What were Hunter's thoughts re: Jennifer asking him to vacation?

ON THE ONE HAND, he was really pleased that she asked him. He knows it's still a long way off, but the fact that she offered made him feel pretty good about their chances for a long-term… thing… at least right now. :|a And yeah he'd like to lose his V card and going on vacation with Jennifer would guarantee that, but it goes deeper than that! He does really like Jennifer and he wants to spend time with her, and if she wants him to go on vacation with her that must mean she wants to spend time with him, too.

ON THE OTHER HAND, their whole situation kind of depresses him, because Jennifer is saying she can't date him while simultaneously… acting like she's dating him… so there are mixed messages and ugh!! Hunter keeps telling himself and other people that he's totally fine with the whole FWB arrangement, but let's be real, he's the kind of guy who wants to have a girlfriend! And to be a boyfriend! And be adorable and ~fall in love!

So while he's happy that she asked him and right now he would go with her in a second, part of him is wondering how much longer he can do this whole thing without getting burnt out.

Jennifer inviting Hunter to vacation was her way of making not only a partial apology (oops, I knew it was going to happen, sorry you're a furry virgin), but also... staking her claim? Yeah, she genuinely would want to go with him and participate in all that entails, but she's also supremely territorial, and that's a way to advertise that yeah, Hunter is with her.

And in terms of the whole dating thing, the problem is that Jennifer is so convinced that she'd mess everything up is that she's willing to... mess it up before anything even happens. It isn't just the cheating--that was just a convenient semi-truth (...okay, truth-truth) to cover up the fact that she knows she's awful in relationships, and she wouldn't actually know how to be anyone's girlfriend anymore, considering the last whirlwind of destruction and issues that was Sam/Jennifer. She also doesn't want to saddle him with the fact that she's a serial killer, and being human--which she knows won't last, because she's aleady planning for it to not last--doesn't fix her history.

Anyway, all that is not to say that she genuinely doesn't want to date Hunter. She would, but she has her own vast catalogue of issues to sort through, and doesn't want to give him any issues of his own.
